A Successful Weekend North and South
With Toby Lerone having kicked off February in great style, the horses continued a good run of form over the weekend.
Craig Buckingham’s striking filly Golden Vision got the day off to a great start when making all to win on her British debut at Wetherby. Thirty five minutes later Oldgrangewood put in a smart performance to win for the second time at the track for Chris & Sandra Giles, travelling very smoothly through the race to finish two and a quarter lengths ahead of nearest rival Dresden. Later in the day it was great to see Sam Red running nicely to finish second and Open Hearted back in the winners’ enclosure when third in the hunters’ chase.
Yesterday (Sunday) we sent four runners to Taunton with June Watts’ Mohaayed kicking things off in fine style. After taking up the running with two flights to jump, he soon skipped clear of his rivals to post an impressive fourteen length success over Volpone Jelois. Later on in the day the team were delighted to see two great campaigners Bertimont & Willow’s Saviour back in the winners’ enclosure, with both of them finishing second in their respective races.
We have plenty of entries to look forward to this week, and The Bay Oak is declared to run tomorrow at Hereford where he can hopefully translate his consistent form over hurdles in the novices’ handicap chase.
